Wind Speed vs. Latitude

Wind speed does not show observable trends with respect to latitude. It is also noticeable that most values are concentrated below 15 mph. Factors other than latitude could explain more intense wind speeds in the outlier cities. Further analysis could contemplate altitude, terrain rugosity and orography to reach more meaningful results.
